GLENMORE MANSION
Glenmore Mansion, built in 1868, stands as a stunning example of Tennessee's Second Empire architectural style. This grand three-story house boasts 27 rooms and a towering 30-foot structure that rises majestically above the roofline. As the only house museum in Jefferson County open to the public, Glenmore Mansion has been a cherished landmark since 1972, initially operated by the APTA Glenmore Chapter.

OLD CITY HALL
The Historic Old City Hall stands as a testament to the region's rich heritage and the community's dedication to preservation. Established in 1868 by John Roper Branner, the building originally served as a Masonic Lodge and girls' school. In 1882, it transitioned into the area's first public school, accommodating grades 1 through 12. By 1930, the structure was expanded to house the city government, including the Fire and Police Departments, and even a jail. The Masonic Lodge continued its presence in the building until 1989, marking a significant era in Jefferson City's civic life.

Travel off the beaten path to this charming and vibrant area experiencing a resurgence driven by local preservation and heritage groups as well as restaurateurs and chefs. Originally settled in the late 1700's, Mossy Creek was an important railroad and mining town and saw significant battle during the Civil War in part for the lush area's agriculture resources - corn and bacon. Begin the day with our guided tour filled with hospitality, history, and tastes of Southern style foods and delicacies to modern dishes in local craft eateries using area grown ingredients. Continue your day urban fly fishing or floating the creek with Mossy Creek Outfitters, visit Cherokee Lake or the Wildlife Viewing Area, Glenmore Mansion, Bush's Beans Visitor Center and Museum, the former home site of author Frances Hodgson Burnette, or Houston's Mineral Water - bring a container to fill with fresh spring water and pay on the honor system. Book your stay at the beautifully restored Lodge at Old City Hall. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to the Heritage Center at Mossy Creek.
