The History of Mossy Creek Station

Mossy Creek Foundation and the City of Jefferson City partnered to turn vacant lots on Main Street into a festival park for community gatherings and family picnics. We've named it MOSSY CREEK STATION. The park opened on April 25, 2017, and includes a grassy hillside amphitheater, event pavilion, restroom facilities, playground, and a long-desired tribute to veterans.

Since its opening one year ago, Mossy Creek Station has become the go-to spot for family-friendly fun:  outdoor movies, parades, Veterans events, concerts, art events, Little Free Library, and more!

Legacy Plaza features classic red bricks inscribed with names of Jefferson County residents, past and present. Who are the people who made Jefferson County what it is today.

As Jefferson City and the Mossy Creek Foundation partner to provide a place for community gatherings and revitalize the city's historic downtown, it is fitting for the space to prominently showcase a Veterans Plaza.

Conveniently located on Main Street, the Veterans Plaza at Mossy Creek Station features a flag plaza of stately red bricks inscribed with sentiments of your choice in tribute to men and women—your family and friends—who served our country in the United States Armed Forces.
